Invisalign is a ground breaking orthodontic treatment that offers an alternative to metal braces. Clear plastic aligners which gradually straighten your teeth are used in place of traditional wires and bands.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Our Cincinnati Invisalign dentist, Dr. Stuart Levy, will use advanced impressions of your teeth using advanced 3D imaging technology. The images will be used to plan your treatment and to create the custom alignment trays known as aligners.
You will wear each aligner for about 2 weeks, and they will gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. After a couple of weeks, you proceed to the next set of aligners in the set, which will continue the straightening of your teeth. Most adults will have somewhere between 16-20 aligners to achieve the ideal position of your teeth.
You will need to wear your aligners for at least 20 hours each day for the optimal effectiveness of the treatment. There are conditions like eating, drinking and brushing your teeth where you will want to remove the Invisalign aligners. Other than those situations you will want to wear the aligners at all other times during your treatment.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

  • Custom for you – The aligners will be constructed from the detailed impressions of your teeth this will allow for correction of your specific orthodontic issues.
  • Comfortable – There are no sharp edges on the aligners so there will be no gums or teeth irritation.
  • Invisible – The aligners are clear meaning they will be virtually undetectable.
  • Effectiveness – Invisalign will offer results that are visible to you very early in the process and the treatment is as effective as traditional braces.
